EXTRAORDINARY AQUATIC ACTIVITIES!

The Grande-Anse wharf is the starting point for ocean excursions. Whether it be for cod fishing, underwater diving along the capes, or whale watching, your stay in Grande-Anse will be unforgettable.
Between mid-July and mid-September, the Bay of Chaleur is home to many different
whale species attracted by its plankton-rich waters. Weather permitting, it is
something possible to see these whales from the top of the capes.
Thanks to specially prepared boats, you can explore the Bay of Chaleur in search of new sensations. Come discover the many little crypts on the bottom of this bay surrounded by portly cliffs and out of this world landscapes while enjoying the peace of waves splashing and sea breeze.
Come swim and frolic in the warm waters of our beaches.
The
temperature of these waters range from 17 to 21 degrees Celsius in July and August.
Changing rooms, bathrooms, play areas for children, volleyball courts and a large parking
area are all available
to you near the beach. A picnic area with barbecue pits is also available. As
well, the sand of our beaches is looked after daily. Please take note that our
beaches are not supervised; be carefull, specially if you have young children with you.
All kinds of aquatic activities are practiced in Grande-Anse. You can rent kakaks in the village or at the beach. Discover new landscapes, some of which can only be seen offshore. Float on the sea along the edge of our portly capes which shelter a great number of bird species. You can also contact the Club des Oursins for a diving expedition.
Grande-Anse is also the entry point of the Acadian Peninsula multipurpose trail (130km). You can go on bicycle ride that will take you just about anywhere in the region. You can take of to Caraquet via Saint-Léolin and Bertrand. Stroll along the beaches near the bottom of the cliffs while enjoying the scenery.
The Grande-Anse region sea floor is as impressive as its cliffs: rocky plateaus on a sandy bottom. The intense marine life is well protected from human activity. Come discover lobsters, plaices and skates in their natural environment. You will also have the possibility to pick blue mussels which are often stuck to submerged rocks along the capes.
