The Acadian Peninsula occupies the northeastern part of New Brunwick. It goes from Grande-Anse to Neguac, past Tracadie-Sheila. The first settlement dates back to 1620 on Miscou Island. Most of the population lives near the coast in village and small towns and have sea related jobs. The main industries are fishing, pulp and paper, peat moss, agriculture and tourism. From Edmundston, you can easily find us by taking exit 58 in Saint-Léonard, or from Rimouski via Matépédia valley and Campbellton. Route 11 goes through Bathurst and brings you to Grande-Anse. On the other extremity of the Peninsula, the village of Neguac is only a short distance from Miramichi. |
